Your Donated Items Build Homes and Fund Affordable Housing Right Here in Danville
Every piece of furniture, clothing item, appliance, or cabinet you no longer need has a second life at the Habitat ReStore — and the proceeds go directly toward affordable homeownership and the Aging in Place program for families and seniors in Danville and Pittsylvania County.
You can drop off donations at 2805 Riverside Dr, Danville, VA 24540 during store hours:
- Tuesday – Thursday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Friday – Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Monday: Closed
We are always closed on Mondays and observe various holiday closures throughout the year. Any closures due to holidays or weather will be announced on our Facebook Page, so check there before making the trip.

What We Accept at the ReStore
Furniture
We welcome sofas, sectionals, dining sets, bedroom furniture, dressers, bookshelves, and other household furniture in clean, usable condition. Items should be free of major stains, structural damage, or strong odors.

Appliances
Working appliances in good condition are among our most requested donations. We accept major kitchen and laundry appliances that are clean and fully functional.

Building Materials and Home Improvement Items
Contractors, remodelers, and homeowners completing renovations often have surplus materials that are perfectly usable. We accept a wide range of building and home improvement items.
- Cabinets and countertops
- Doors and windows (undamaged)
- Flooring and tile
- Lighting fixtures and ceiling fans
- Plumbing fixtures in working condition
- Paint (unopened or resealed, latex only)
- Hand tools and power tools
What We Cannot Accept
To keep our ReStore running efficiently and our shoppers safe, there are items we are not able to take. Please review this list before scheduling a pickup or loading your vehicle.
- Mattresses and box springs
- Particle-board furniture that is broken or swollen
- Tube televisions and non-working electronics
- Hazardous materials of any kind
- Encyclopedias and VHS tapes
- Items with significant mold, pest damage, or structural failure

Free Large-Item Pickup. We Will Come to You!
If you have large furniture or appliances that are difficult to transport, our team can come to you. We offer free large-item donation pickup for qualifying donations — and we travel well beyond the immediate area to make it happen. Whether you are in Danville, across Pittsylvania County, in Caswell or Henry County, near Smith Mountain Lake, or somewhere in between, reach out and we will do our best to schedule a pickup time that works for you. Your Donation Is Tax-Deductible
Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which means your donated items may qualify as a charitable tax deduction. At drop-off or pickup, we provide a donation receipt you can use when filing your taxes. The IRS allows donors to assign fair-market value to donated goods — we recommend consulting a tax advisor for guidance specific to your situation.
