About Us
Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity
Built Around a Mission That Serves Real Families
Reaching Milestones Together
We are Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity, an ecumenical Christian, self-help housing ministry that does not discriminate on the basis of religion, gender, color, or ethnic background.
DPCHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has helped to build, renovate and repair more than 800,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 4 million people worldwide. Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman, and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety.
Established in 1991, DPCHFH has built 45 new homes and renovated 5 homes, serving over 200 people locally, and has served 69 families internationally through its annual tithes to Habitat for Humanity International. Our goal is to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing to low-income working families and help them achieve the American dream of homeownership.
