About Us

We are Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity (DPCHFH), an ecumenical Christian, self-help housing ministry that does not discriminate on the basis of religion, gender, color or ethnic background.

DPCHFH is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a global nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles.  Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity International has helped to build, renovate and repair more than 800,000 decent, affordable houses sheltering more than 4 million people worldwide.  Habitat for Humanity was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, durable place to live in dignity and safety.

Established in 1991, DPCHFH has built 46 new homes and renovated 5 homes, serving 203 people locally and has served 47 families internationally through its annual tithes to Habitat for Humanity International.  Our goal is to provide decent, safe and affordable housing to low-income working families and help them achieve the American dream of homeownership.

Our Mission
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Our Vision
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Non-Proselytizing Policy

Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations (HFH) will not proselytise.  Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH.  This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must (i) adhere to or convert to a particular faith or (ii) listen and respond to messaging designed to induce to a particular faith.
