The Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity ReStore sells new and used building materials to the public at discounted prices.  Shoppers find lumber, plumbing fixtures, lighting, flooring, hardwood furniture, windows, doors, cabinets, tile, blinds, shutters, appliances and more—all in our Hughes Street warehouse.

The ReStore collects new and used (tax-deductable) building materials from community donors.

All ReStore proceeds support the building of new Habitat homes in our community.  If that is not motivation enough to shop, consider the ReStore diverts tons of usable materials from local landfills each year.  Danville/Pittsylvania County Habitat supports neighbors in need of affordable housing and encourages all of us to be good stewards of our environment.  Come shop, save, donate and deduct, and support Habitat for Humanity.

How to Donate to the ReStoreDonations can be dropped-off at the ReStore until 1/2 hour before closing. Businesses, please call beforehand, so that we will have sufficient staff available to assist you.

Donation Criteria

The Danville-Pittsylvania County  Habitat for Humanity ReStore  accepts donations of  good, usable, structurally sound  case goods, book shelves, and building materials.  All donations are tax-deductible  to the full extent allowed by law.  If you’re unsure if your  donation meets this criteria, please call 434-793-3630.

Appliances
Must be 5 years old or newer, with all knobs and in working order. Dish washers; Gas, electric, and microwave ovens; Range hoods; Range tops; Refrigerators; Washers/Dryers

Architectural Items
Antique Items; Columns; Mantels; Porch Posts

Cabinetry
In good condition with intact doors and drawers. Full kitchen and bathroom sets; Individual pieces; Countertops with straight sections, no holes Hardware

Doors
Residential only. Entryway units, Exterior or interior, no rot, cracks, or missing panes; Pre-hung or door slabs, no taller than 84”

Flooring
Hardwood/Parquet flooring, 25 sq ft or more; New carpet 10’ x 10’ or larger; New padding; New Vinyl or vinyl sheets; Slate/Marble and ceramic tile

Furniture
No Office or Upholstered Furniture. Good condition and Structurally Sound. Case goods. Hardwood, tables, and chairs

Hardware
Complete sets of door hardware. Any quantity of hinges, nails, screws, hangers, etc.

Lighting
Good to excellent condition, complete and in working order; No fluorescent or can lights

Lumber and Sheetrock
Dimensional, 6’ or longer Trim and moulding, 5’ or longer Sheet goods, 4’ x 4’ or larger
No scrap lumber, no nails, no concrete on wood

Paint
Latex paint only, full unopened and non-rusted

Plumbing
Bathtubs, fiberglass, claw foot, steel, space permitting. Faucets, complete sets only Sinks, kitchen and bath, without rusts or cracks; Shower enclosures, no cracks or stains; Toilets, residential only; Miscellaneous plumbing hardware, fitting pipes

Windows
Double Hung, Picture, Bay, complete, without rot, cracks, free of foggy glass. No single pane windows
